Pocket clip screw size

I have a small Inkosi and I think the tapped hole in the scale is buggered up. I got new screws from CRK but they won't go in. Does anyone know what the thread size is? It looks like a 4-40 but I'm hesitant to run a tap into it. The screw is so short it's hard to get a thread gauge reading.

4-40 is .112" major diameter, 5-40 is .125" major diameter.

My large Seb 21 clip screw measures .122" and 40 TPI so I'm going to go with it being a 5-40
