Curious what type of steel is the pocket clips on a manix 2 and endura made out of. Is it stainless? Spring steel? If its spring steel, can it take a patina?

That is nice. Reminds me of "old school" color case hardening on firearms.I put a nice satin finish on my the shiny clip for my blurple PM2 with a bit of Scotchbrite. Then, I heat colored it carefully with a propane torch. Here was the result.
I don't like polished clips usually, so I've heat anodized a couple to darken them and then stonewashed them to even out the colour.
Not sure if this is dark enough for you...

Propane torch heated and quenched a few times until it was dark enough. Then stonewashed right after, the stonewashing seems to even out the color. What method did you use to get it that dark and that even. I have never seen a heat anodized one that dark and even before.
