Thought about trying a LM Sideclip or Kick w/ clip, but I really like the file and awl. Anybody put a clip on their PST? Is it possible to rig the available pocket clip for the Kick to a PST? Thanks for the help, Dylan.

It's possible to rig a pocket clip to just about anything, you just have to know what your doing. I myself prefer to go with models that already have clips because I don't like to void my warrantee. There are several people on here as well as multitool.org that can mod a tool for you, someone put a pocketclip on a Vic Spirit for instance. A file or an awl? Hmmm no current models can be close to doing that except a Wave or Charge and you don't want that much weight probably. I really like my Kick and Sideclip (Skeletool as well) They are good lightweight tools and good for what they are designed for. If you would use a clip sheath I would suggest a juice model that has both the file and the awl.

I have been thinkin about buyin a pocket clip for my Wave myself. I know some people say it is too heavy, but it is really no heavier than my craftsman utility knife with a pocket clip. Plus my wave is now well broken in I can open it like a balisong. I like a pocket clip, simply because just pick it up, and stick it in your pocket, instead of having to loop the holster through your belt. I mean I have no problem doing this because my Wave is always with me, but also I like to carry my tools and knives a little more concealed. It doesn't really have anything to do with the "tactical" look I guess, its just I am not a big fan of carrying alot of things on my belt. I am planning on ordering the clip in the next week or 2.

I have a Fuse, which is also a good tool! I upgraded from it to my Wave, but the only real difference from the Fuse and the Kick, is that the tools and blade have a locking mechanism. I love my Wave, but if anything should happen to it, I will carry my Fuse until I get another. I would rather carry it than have nothing at all!

What happens to felt weight when using a pocket clip is dramatic. My Surge, half again heavier than your Wave, is barely noticeable when clipped to a jeans pocket, to the point where I often forget it is there until reaching for my keys.

Pocket clipping is good for me in work clothes (jeans), also street wear (jeans), not so much with suit trousers or slacks. Usually, I don't carry a multitool while wearing these for social occasions, but when my work as a photographer requires formal dress, the Surge gets belt carried, discreetly covered by a jacket or photographer's vest.

Under other circumstances, if I am packing the whole outfit (bits, extender, exchange saw/file), all goes into a sheath on the belt, but that is only when I expect the possibility of some serious work. If it's more than a possibility, I'll bring a regular tool kit. Most of the time, though, the Surge rides with me clipped to RF pocket. Happiness ensues.

Believe me, if a pocket clip works so well with a Surge, you will be thrilled at how it sweetly it will carry your Wave.

Sweet! I can't wait to order it and get it here. Thanks for the input! I have been thinkin about buying the bit set just to have for back ups in case something should happen and one of my drivers get stripped, so i more than likely wont take the sheath everywhere. Are the bits in the tool kit the only ones that fit into the driver on the wave/charge/surge? Just curious if I could go to walmart and pick up some replacements so I dont have to call and order and wait a week for them to get here.

A while back I tried adding a pocket clip to a PST II. I replaced the pivot pins with the hex head pivot pins from a SOG multi-tool. The pins were too long so I filed them down. I also replaced the combo blade with a plain edge blade. I thought about replacing one of the drivers with an awl but never got around to it. The clip rotates a bit since there is no recess in the handle. It might be possible to create a recess for the clip. Using adhesive may also be a way to prevent the clip from rotating.

The Juice series, which DavidBinVT recommended, has an optional sheath with a clip but its nice to have the clip directly on the multi-tool.
