Pocket clips

Let me begin by stating that my sebenza 21 is my absolute favorite possesion. It is used daily in a work capacity and I could not be more pleased with it. That said, I do have one question. Is titanium more subject to bending than steel? I've replaced the pocket clip last month (btw, CRK customer service is awesome) and I might need to do so again. I tend to catch the clip on things, and when the knife is open there is some play between the clip and the lock bar. Is there anyway around this? Or should I just purchase a couple extra clips and put them on when it gets to far out of position? The fault is purely my own, no design flaw in the knife. I've just never noticed this effect on other knives with a steel clip. Thoughts, anyone?

Carry in in pocket, or order a new clip when needed. Or at least thats what I would do in your case.
You could just bend yours back to where it was.
I've never had a problem with a CRK clip myself.

I have carried my CRK's clipped to my right front pocket since day one ( sebenza and umnumzaan ). I have caught it on things here and there, but luckily never anything that caused me to lose one. There have been times that I have caught them and the clip would get "slightly" sprung, which causes the slight play when the knife is "open" as you stated. I just simply remove the clip an just where the bend begins, I bend it slightly to get that tension back. I have yet to have to do this over and over on the same knife, even though I carry the same ones pretty much all the time, but we all have different activities, so while mine does not catch as often, yours does. One thing I notice is that I am pretty much constantly aware of my CRK. Maybe its a CRTK OCD thing, who knows. But anytime I get up to go somewhere else, its pocket check time.............I do think Titanium is tougher and more resilient than steel and I am glad that the clip is made of the Ti.

You can say that again.

Whenever I leave work, car, job site, restaurant, I always give the quick pat down for phone keys wallet and of course my sebbie!

As for your pocket clip issue: if it seems like it's always happening perhaps you would be better suited with a belt sheath for your seb?

Agreed on the crk OCD, I constantly check it. I wouldn't want a steel clip on a ti scale, would look wierd and I'm sure the hardness from the steel would have an adverse relationship the the ti. Anyway, I suppose I'll just tweak this new kne, and order a new one as necessary. It's just too useful to have clipped, rather than dig for it when I need it.

I do highly recommend the CRK Leather belt sheathes. I have several of them and they are of the highest quality from Gffellar ....!!!

I have a five-year-old umnumzaan and the clip has gotten bent to the point that it doesn't touch the lock bar twice due to wear&tear. I take it off, bend it back, reattach it, good as new. The fact that it didn't bend out much more quickly the second time and shows no stress marks from bending tells me that it hasn't affected the integrity of the clip (granted this is not exactly a scientific observation).
I say bend it back every once in a while and don't worry about it :)

You can usually bend the pocket clip back a number of times before you risk breaking it. IMO titanium is a far better material for clips than steel is. If it's a persistent issue for you then perhaps as mentioned some sort of sheath would be in order. :)

a prevailing property of metallic titanium is its memory to return to its original shape when bent (springiness) and the fact it will suffer multible bends back and forth without fracturing. They don't make jet turbine blades out of ot just because its light or strong. Even land based gas turbines have titanium blades for its springiness and resistance to fracture. The CRK pocket clip is the best in the business, and I know no better.
