Pocket Fixed Bade?

I was just curious how many of you all here carry a pocket fixed blade pretty regularly as an EDC. Also, what do you carry and how do you carry it in the pocket? Production or custom, doesn't matter to me. I carry a modern folder and one or two traditionals everyday, but I'm very interested in the idea of a pocket-sized fixed blade. I'm just looking for some ideas! Thanks!!!!

For EDC'ing a fixed blade I usually just throw my Izula with its original sheath in my pocket, fits fine. Although yesterday I brought out the Marttiini Timberjack, which is quite larger and required some care when sitting down. Also, White River Knives seems to have a decent selection of pocketable fixed blades, although I haven't had a chance to hold one yet. Those AG Russells look nice too...

I have an Izula I love. I think if I could get a leather pocket sheath that would be about perfect. I'll have to just try it with the original sheath though. Thanks!

This is not special or impressive but I owned and carried a CRKT Obake for quite a while it actually works really well especially with the lanyard set up they suggest. I eventually went back to a folder but really can't come up with a valid complaint about the Obake.

I edc fixed blades Maybe 50% of the time. I have various 5"-7" customs and I prefer to carry them scout style on my belt, or in my pocket via a clip on the sheath.
Hell, I have one for sale on here too..

Yeah, a leather sheath would be more appropriate for pocket carry, but the original sheath isn't too bad. I have the G10 scales on mine, still fits in a pocket rather well, doesn't feel bulky at all.

I've carried small FBs for years, off and on. My favs are a Dozier Straight Personal, a Bradford G3, or a BRKT Essential. The Dozier gets most of the pocket FB time. It's just perfect for what I do with a knife. In a coat, I'll carry in a Sharpshooter pocket sheath along with a small light. At work, I carry in the standard horizontal sheath that comes with the Dozier or the Essential. They ride well at about 10:00 and I can reach them with either hand, sitting or standing.

The A G Russell Woodswalker is a great little knife. I often carry a small fixed blade in addition to a traditional folder and sometimes a modern folder as well. I carry some in a pocket sheath and others in a belt sheath.

I carry the Patriot by LT Wright knives. Very comfy and you don't even know it's there until you need it.

I carried an Izula 2 for a good while. The best way I found to carry it was in the pocket with a paracord lanyard clipped to my belt loop. I strung the paracord through both the top holes on the Izula sheath. This made it so that when I pulled the knife out the paracord would pull the sheath off. Then, the sheath would drop to the side of my leg right side up so I could re-sheath one handed and then tuck it back into the pocket. Worked pretty well. I stopped carrying it because I just didn't want the hassle of a fixed blade anymore. I find folders more convenient and not as worrisome to others who might be near when I need to cut something.

Lots of awesome input and pictures. I appreciate it guys! But now my decision is harder because of all the sweet knives I've seen. [emoji23]

I'll just go ahead and make it more difficult ;)

I don't always carry this one, but I always enjoy it when I do. Sometimes it's a bother to have to remove a whole pocket sheath in order to draw a knife. I think of this as a gentleman's pocket fixed blade EDC, as it's not something that I can flip out at a moment's notice. It's nice to have when the strength or simplicity of a fixed blade is desirable:

A Lon Humphrey Whitetail. 1095 steel, dark curly maple scales, 5.7 inches total length. I seriously love this little guy.

Carries incredibly well in front or back pocket. IMO, an incredible value.

I do have one that Alan Davis made for me the way I wanted it and it is VERY NICE! I have not carried it much but if I choose to carry a fixed blade it is the one. Contact Alan and have him make you one the way you want it. He is here on the forums and does mostly folders but he will do a great job for you. Kevin :thumbup:

I've been carrying my guardian3 in my basketball shorts' pocket in its current setup, unlike a folder with a clip it's easier to pull out while I'm at work, and doesn't get in the way as much, plus it's small enough to hide all the way in the pocket.
