Pocket Fixed Blade?

Ok, I'm looking for a pocket fixed blade or keychain knife. I already own an Izula-II so I need something smaller than that.

I'm only considering American-made stuff.

Would a TOPS Ferret work or do you think it would be too small?

I'm looking forward to your suggestions.

Thanks guys!

I was all set to recommend the A.G. Russell Woodswalker until I read the part about only wanting USA made. I'm pretty sure AG has those made in Japan.

Scrapyard Scrapivore, Fehrman Shortstop, bark river has lots of knives in that size range.

Hm. I had not thought of hanging my Fehrman Shortstop from a keychain. Interesting idea.
To the OP, I like the Shortstop, with one caveat...it is too thick in the blade. It needs to be reprofiled for optimal slicing ability.
If you are looking for a US made knife, you are going to pay through the nose. You might consider a Krein.
Also, Phil Rose makes the Thorn. The Thorn is my favorite.

I carry around my Bark River PSK in 154CM, and/or their IMP. The Bumble Bee, and their micro knives are all great for the pocket. The PSK even comes with a pocket sheath, as do others.

Fiddleback Runt, 3 finger Karda, Becker BK11, 14, or remora, some sort of Kiridashi, or the BHK Tiger Knapp, all fit in the pocket.

I guess size and weight are major factors. What about steel, handle, or sheath options? Any preferences?

I've been wanting to try the tiger knapp, I think that's a cool little blade, for a great price too. Rust protection may be an issue, but I may pick one up anyway. They have a large (6 1/2 inch oa) and small (5 3/4 inch oa).

I've had a Bark River Mini-Canadian in my pocket pretty much every day for the last 9+ years. It is the best "little big knife" I have run across.

Look at Blind Horse Knives Frontier Patch knife, unbelievably nice knife for the money

American made - how about Beckers? I like the BK14 and BK11 - both are great for pocket carry etc.

Both good choices. Have them and love them. But they are as big if not bigger than the Izula 2 that he already has.
But they are both smaller than the Esee 3 or 4.

Take a look at the CLB Edit by Boker. I have one and it's an OK knife to throw into a front pocket and not worry about.

Check out the new Bark River, Loveless inspired, City Knife.

Big Mike

The City Knife is a real gem. I have a green canvas mic one that's my "dressy" FB. Works great in a Pocono pocket sheath. The city sheath was just too wide for my RFP, but the Pocono is perfect.

I recently bought a Bark River Little Carver in CPM 3V. OAL 5.7" w/2.7" blade--smaller than an Izula (6.25").

The handle is basically a 3-finger grip, which works fine for me and gets you to that short OAL.

It fits perfectly in the A.G. Russell Woodwalker pocket sheath, which A.G. sells seperately for very little $, IIRC. I'd bet some of the KSF pocket sheaths would work with it too. KSF happens to carry the Little Carver.

I also have a Blind Horse Knives Frontier First patch knive, 5.5" OAL that I like a lot.
