I read a post about the folding knife in the movie "The Edge" and got to thinking about other movies or TV shows that had pocket and folding knives in them. There are lots of movies with sheath knives but it seems like pocketknives and folders are less common.

Here are some that I know of:

Movies:
The Edge
The Great Escape
The Cowboy Way
Urban Cowboy
It's A Family Thing
No Time for Sergeants
Friday the 13th
Huckleberry Finn
U.S. Marshals
PT 109

TV Shows:
Andy Griffith
The Dukes of Hazard
Cops
The Beverly Hillbillies
Green Acres

That's all I can think of right off, I'll add more later. Can anyone else help add to the list?

T.V. shows:
The X-Files
Millennium (canceled)
The Simpsons
King of the Hill
Martial Law
Walker: Texas Ranger

Movies:
Anaconda
Point of No Return
The Avengers
The Big Brawl
Out of Sight
Fight Club
Jennifer 8
Cliffhanger
Three Kings (a military switchblade)
Virus
Summer of Sam (a "modern linerlock" during the Disco era???)
Switchback
The Edge (of course)
Black Dog
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Crocodile Dundee II
The Fan
Exposure
The Corruptor (big P.O.S. folder used by Mark Wahlberg)
The Replacement Killers
Scream II

I knew some of you would come up about more. I forgot about the knife in Anaconda. I either didn't see the other shows/movies or missed the knives in them.

Thanks.

Anymore anyone?

British TV serial "The Bodyguards". In the serie made on novelist Salman Rushdi story LEO used Spiderco stainless "Police" to make a trap against the pursuers.

I admit it...I like the old show 'Emergency'

I saw an episode on TV land where John Gage used a Buck 110 or lookalike to cut a pant leg.

Movies: All the ones mentioned already, plus "George of the Jungle" (I think) and "Judgement Night" (yes, I actually saw this movie..)

TV: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" had a really great shot of a spyderco knife once, it looked like an Endura but I couldn't be sure..

Here are some more that I know of:

Movies:
The Eiger Sanction
The Old Man and the Mountain
Survive!
Anaconda

TV Shows:
The Rifleman
Rawhide
Dragnet
Emergency

Shawshank Redemption!
great movie too.

No one mentioned Exposure w/ Peter Coyote. Maybe it goes without saying?

How about in "The Mummy" when Brendan Frasier pulls out a Benchmade balisong to cut out one of those bugs?

Or my favorite, "Mask" where biker Sam Eliot gives a balisong to Cher's kid, I forget his name. (And I have the nerve to say it's my favorite; what's the matter with me?!)

And then, there's "Eyes Wide Shut" with Nicole Kidman, who's NAKED. I don't remember if there's a pocket knife in the movie, but Nicole Kidman's naked, and that's good enough for me.

How about "The Client", where the BG uses a highly decorated Police; "Blackboard Jungle", the flick that got switchblades banned; or "Gunfight at OK Corral" where Kirk Douglas, as Doc Holladay is first seen flipping those same cheap Italian switchblades into a hotel door? There was also a "Murder She Wrote" tv show where a Police was the murder weapon on a movie set.

One must not omit the best auto ever in "Eye of the Needle" and the balisong scene in "Streets of Fire"

Just saw L.A. Confidential again (*fabulous* movie!), and Russell Crowe uses an auto (not sure what it is, though) a couple of times: to open a screen door, and for help uncovering a corpse.

TV
-The Wizard, used a Leatherman tool, kind of like a MacGuyver show, little guy who used to be a weapon designer and then went into the toy business.
-Mr. Murder, Spyderco Mariner
Movies
- Hard Target, Pick used a Spyderco Police, Beaudroux had a SAK in his possesion when he was taken to the PD
-Bringing Out The Dead, Buck 110
-American Ninja, butterfly
-Bad Boyz, Spyderco Civilian
-Terminator 2, POS automatic knife
-Cobra, unknown type of folder

There was an Italian switch with stag scales in Se7en and a COOL folder in Terminal Velocity. In the movie, the knife is said to be Russian and it has some Cyrillic alphabets on the blade. Mikle, have you seen this?

Movie;

`Only The Strong' had a Sypderco Civilian folder.
