Lets start with a price limit of $150.
Christmas Present for my Dad

I've always carried the larger single blade folders myself. Dad has carried Case, Schrade, etc.., Seems he has never been quite satisfied with the edge holding of these knives. Anyone have recommendations for a pocket knife 2-3 blade knife that has exceptional steel and is fairly tough. I've seen Dad cut a lot of different things. Stainless or Carbon I don't think matters to him,

Thanks,
Tim

If he likes Case and Schrade but they don't hold an edge long enough, a Queen knife in D2 would be an excellent choice. Even a mother of pearl stockman can be had for <$75. A stockman with cocobolo wood can be had for ~$45.

The only downside is that D2 isn't that tough. Don't use it to pry or chop or anything and you should be fine. It will hold an edge for longer but of course it will take more time to sharpen.
