i live in the state of arizona and am a bit confused. i have read over the Arizona revised statutes, and it says :

A. A person commits misconduct involving weapons by knowingly:

1. Carrying a deadly weapon without a permit pursuant to section 13-3112 except a pocket knife concealed on his person;

i have been unable to find a maximum blade length for pocket knives like most states have.

i currently have a smith and wesson extreme ops folder with a blade measuring 4.20". can i legally carry it concealed without a permit?

well, i have answered my own question i guess. apparently it is only the attorney generals opinion that it should be 4in. but how much weight does his opinion hold in comparison to state law?

At least in MI an AG opinion means a whole lot, especially if it clarifies a vague portion of the law, like in the case you mentioned. I would heed the AG opinion's length specification.

Depends on the the context in which they expressed the opinion. In some cases it's little more than blowing smoke, it others it has the potential to be a problem. Do you have a reference?

In phoenix arizona it says

except a pocket knife not manufactured and used for the purpose of offense and defense.
Where did you find the AG opinion stating 4"?
