Here's a few little fixed blades to go in a slip sheath in your pocket, purse, or maybe just stick in a desk drawer.

1/8" 440C
Rosewood scales (there are some imperfections in the grain that you can see, but they are sanded smooth and finished with danish oil)
Blades are 1-3/4" long, Overall length is 5".
Still need to sharpen them and make sheaths but the shopis too cold to go back out tonight :D

The one with full scales has a little filework along with my mark.

Let me know what you think, thanks for looking :)

Matt this is a winner.
The length of the handle allows the blade to be used in long cutting tasks without fatigue or "biting" into the palm of the hand. Yes! I actually took a ruler and made believe I was slicing into stock like rubber or leather.
Nice pointy blade. 1/8 should give minimum to no flex, which is desirable to me. No flex, that is :)

I can do without the pointy pommel. No skulls to be crushed with that size. I don't think the end would be exposed in my hand or grip.
But then that's just my preference even in a bigger blade.

Nice wood.
My Gosh, Matt, you do fine work!

Thanks a lot for the comments, I really appreciate them :D

I did the pointy handle mainly for looks, I just like the shape. Nothing tactical here :D The exposed tang on the one is because I didn't want to risk splitting around the lanyard hole. Rosewood is funny stuff, the grain is unpredictable and while its tough as all get out I didn't want to leave that thin a peice of end grain unsupported.
Thanks again for the kind words

That makes sense. I always enjoy seeing and hearing what an artist had in mind when they did something, a bit out of my usual, on their work.

Have you used them a bit to slice stuff?
What sort of sheath are you doing with these?
Screams Knecker to me :)

Its going to be kydex, and your right I think they could do very well in a neck sheath. I think the shape would give the sheath enough purchase on them to keep them from falling out.
I'll probably try to make it a shape that could also be tucked in a pocket, but is wide enough that it won't flip over if carried as a neck knife. Will leave the handle exposed at least from the middle pin back. There will be a Rivet right in line with the point of the blade to run a ball chain or para-cord through as well.

Haven't found time to sharpen them yet so I haven't done any cutting. They're hollow ground on an 8" wheel and taper to a fairly thin edge and point. I think they will be pretty good cutters. I've done some folders with blades about this wide with a similar grind and they cut pretty well.

Thanks again :D
