OK--I posted this in the general forum as well, but I knew you "gadget-geeks" could help me!

I currently have a LM Micra and give it about a 7 on tht ol' 1 to 10 scale. I have a guy at work who wants to buy it and I am trying to figure out what should replace it. The features I am most interested in are these:
scissors (good ones), tweezers, small flat head (to fix glasses) and a phillips (#1 or #2) and a few other neat items if available. Any suggestion in one tool?

Please advise--

David

LM Wave! May not have small 'nuff screwdriver, but the blades are on the outside...Don't have to open tool to cut something.
Gotta get one!

The Kutmaster Mini Master has all your desired items and a few more plus they all lock. To boot the entire package is only slightly larger than the smallest Victorinox Swiss army knife (whatever that model is called). The Mini Master doesn't get much press but its the most size efficient mini tool around; now if only they could get pliers on it too.

If you are looking for a tool of the same size as the Micra, I have a SOG Crosscut that I have had for the past 12months.

This has a good pair of scissors that will cut most things and the other features that you mentioned. It comes with a neat little pouch that covers the tool and allows it to be added to your keyring.

The best thing that I can say about this tool is that I am a certified gadget nut, and I am not looking to replace it anytime soon.

Regards,

Ed

While there are a number of good options, my conclusion thus far is: the micra remains my fave, pretty easily. Make sure you try all these other tools out before you sell your micra!

I'll go along with Joe on this one. I have the Micra on my keys and the SOG Crossgrip on the wife's. Neat little tool, but doesn't quite measure up to the Micra. If you want something to augment the Micra, try the Swisstech Screwzall- I use that as much, if not more, than any of the drivers on any of the tools. It has a normal and mini flat and philips- one of each, and you won't even notice it's 1.0oz on your keys- plus it's pretty inexpensive.

Just out of curiosity, how do you think you could improve on the micra (or whatever your favorite tool is).

The only improvement I can think of on the micra is to make the bottle-opener bigger. Too often, the little hook on the bottom, or the beak on top, shear through the metal cap instead of just prying it off. The only way to make the bottle opener thicker would be to remove one of the other tools -- so I'd be willing to sacrifice the file for it.

Beyond that, the micra has exactly what I need. Excellent scissors. Phillips head screwdriver (well, half of one, but it works fine), regular screwdriver, eyeglass screwdriver (I've used that a lot), bottle opener, tweezers. And I've even used the file, though I can't remember when.

Thanks for all the input! I have taken all the advice and kept the Micra and bought a Mini Buck Tool. I am really happy with the Buck so far!
If I end up keeping my Buck...I might have a good condition Micra for sale. :-)
