Here's one I just finished for a customer. I thought I'd post it here to get some feedback. It's a new design for me. The knife is 7 1/4" overall, blade length is 3 1/4", steel is CPM154, textured orange G10, 410 bolsters and liners. What do you guys think of the slot on the blade as opposed to a nail nick? It really makes it handy to open either right or left handed. No busted nails. Also, I thought I'd try something different on this knife. I put in the bearing system that Tom Ferry and I came up with. The blade is rock solid and as smooth as a baby's bottom. Let me know what you think.

I like the slot idea, have always hated the nick with strong springed knives. The slot further out is a good idea too, better leverage.

Bearings without it being a lockback, unsure, depends on how solid it locks up with the spring I would say. Hard to tell from a picture, but I like it overall.

I have slip joints, but for heavy cutting with a bigger blade, I always try to use a lock of some sort because I don't have a good record with big bladed slippies heh. Though with all the hysteria of late, I've pondered a big slip joint, non locker.

I got to handle this cool little knife. I really like the whole concept of this thing. The bearing system means the liners can be tight on the blade but still have super smooth action. This is the first slipjoint I've ever handled with bearings and it's just the smoothest slipjoint I've ever held. I also really like the opening slot. It is so much better than a nail nick. The textured G10 scales make this a real great user too.

I don't think I'd like to see all your knives with a slot...but the overall presence of this one just says "user" and I don't think I'd be worried one bit to do just that.
