My new EDC. I bought the SOG pocket pliers first but then wanted the GEAR COVERS that Paladin offers on the same size pliers. I replaced the wire stripper tool with another large screwdriver ground down a bit. Finally I equipped it with a Skelltool clip. I really wanted the lightest useable pliers. The compound gears on the SOG's/ Paladin's really do make a difference.

Nice! I also "SOGified" my PT-510 but I haven't added a pocket clip. Were any modifications necessary? Did you solder the clip to keep it from rotating?

That's an older photo--it now has a plain edge blade.

Yea, I welded the clip to keep it from sliding. I too was on the verge of swaping the pliers. The sog pliers are more of a needdel point and also open wider. Why do you like like the sog pliers better? does it make a better overall multi tool. I welcome your opinion.

I'd like to add a clip to mine sometime in the future.

I don't know if it makes a better overall multi-tool but I prefer the needle nose profile and wider gripping area on the SOG PPP pliers. I guess you could argue that they're more versatile. They're both good grippers but the needle nose on the PPP is useful as a super strong forceps (e.g. pulled splinters and broken glass out of my hands, removed burs and ticks from dog fur, helped removed stitches from my shoulder, and etc.) in addition to performing admirably on the normal duties expected of pliers. Some of those tasks weren't easy to accomplish with normal forceps (e.g. the forceps kept slipping on the glass and the stitches) but the PPP hasn't let me down.

After some use, I really thought I wanted to put the SOG plier head on instead of the Paladin. Today however, I used the hard wire notch only found on the Paladin heads. So I guess I'm still on the fence about the switch.
