Got tired of the big sword folders. The Spyderco Poliwog above and the Boker SUBCOM AUS 8 below offer substantial blade in spite of their small size.

I am hoping to get a pollywog soon myself...I really like that knife...just feels great and looks great as well.

I bought the Poliwog as a gift for a friend in Chicago, where I thought you needed less than 2 1/2 inch blades to be legal. I liked it so much I got one for myself. Nice and heavy, thick and substantial. I didn't make the same mistake with the SUBCOM and bought two in case I wanted to gift one. That SUBCOM is sharp right out of the box! A little hard to open one handed, but I've only had it for a few hours. Need a little practice time. BTW, I live in Florida and with my concealed weapon permit, I can carry all sizes and styles, including autos. My Chicago friend is extremely jealous.

I'm a fan of small knives myself. I carried a Spartan and a Blue Almite walker today.

I really want a poliwog, but I'm afraid it'd be a bit of a pocket anchor. Also, it seems too wide to fit. Subcom always seemed like a good idea...

Yeah recently i've been looking at the small "fat" knives. I bought my dad a gerber fatty which he loves and i received a TOPS wolf pup which is a sweet knife. I'll have to check out that subcom and poliwog....
