I wanted to design a knife that is as traditional as possible, but unique to me.
The first attempt had the very rounded handle of the traditional seax fixed blade, so I decided to see what it will look and feel like if I slimmed the bolsters and scales down while still retaining a bit of of the rise towards the back. The second attempt came out very well, and as it is sold I can now show it here and get your feedback:

SAE1070 blade and spring, brass liners and bolsters (I carved the design on the bolsters), Pink Ivory wood scales, closed length: 4" incl the lanyard ring.

Questions and comments welcome!

Very interesting design & great craftsmanship. I remember quite a few years ago when leafing through a woodworking magazine, a very unusually large pink ivory log was sold for the highest price ever recorded for any wood species - exceedingly rare wood from what I recall. Is it difficult to source ?

That is pretty darn cool. And I like the bolsters and handle color. Blade shape is unique and useful. What is the blade length? He handle looks long for the blade.

WOW - I like it very much! Very fine - love the details, materials and shape.
Pretty much covers my admiration - short of having one in hand.:)

My apologies for the late reply, my computer's screen stopped working a couple of days ago, got it fixed yesterday and been catching up since.
Thank you all for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

It used to be easy to find at dealers as it is a local wood, but at the last show I attended not one of the handle material dealers had any in stock. Luckily I still have enough to keep me busy for a while.

Blade form tip to bolster is 2 7/8" Handle excl the lanyard loop is 3 3/4" the blade tip is about 1/16" from the end of the handle when closed.

That’s a real beauty! Do you have website where someone could see more of your work?

Thank you !
Sorry, I do not have a website yet. If you are on Facebook you can have a look at my page, there are a number of albums showing my previous work. The link is below in my signature
