OK guy, I'm thinking about getting a picket sheath... I've heard of skystorm and KSF, anything else that's good that I should look at? Which do you carry? I'm gonna be getting an izula, and would like the sheath to hold that, but not sure if I want cards, like the KSF city sheath, with it, or another pouch for a flashlight... I usually carry my flashlight clipped left rear, and that's the pocket this sheath will go in. Thanks guys!

Your post sounds (is written)like you are carrying on a conversation with someone we can't see or hear. If you are trying to buy a custom sheath then I'd suggest you post in the correct forum….Services wanted in the Exchange section. Or go to the top of this forum and contact one of the many sheath makers listed there for your custom work. If you are wanting a factory type sheath you won't get much done in this forum. It would probably speed things up for you if you decided what you want and THEN go looking for a maker.

I'm not looking for a maker per say, I'd be fine with a production type, like KSF... I was just looking for guys who use them, how they use and carry with them, to see what works best...

I currently carry a 6.5" semi custom drop point fixed blade in a KSF pocket sheath. The quality of the sheath is excellent. I find it a little uncomfortable in the back pocket of my jeans and have been carrying it in the RH side pocket where I would typically carry a clipped folder. It rides nice there but I'm still undecided.

My sheath has a small slot next to the blade pocket that looks like it would hold a firestarter; I' thinking of a stubby pen in there.

Nothing wrong with that. I think this forum gets traffic from both leather craftsmen and people that just want to talk about sheaths in general and that can collide with those just looking for a maker.

I know almost nothing about KSF, although I've never heard anything bad, they are probably what you'd expect from a factory sheath. Decent quality, f&f and utility. Skystorm is a great member here and I'd definitely recommend getting in touch with him if you are looking for something a bit more high end.

I have used the KSF Adirondack sheath for my Izula and Vic Spirit multitool for a number of years. There's a stub of ferro rod tucked down in there too.

This is a pocket sheath I made almost two years ago. At first it was strange carrying a fixed blade in my front pocket but once I got used to it, I can't imagine going back to a folder.

Is that the bk14/eskabar?

Thanks for the responses so far guys!

I use to make a wallet sheath. Worked real good if a guy had some "feel", not so good if they were a crammer and a jammer.

So, is the skystorm higher quality than the KSF? They have similar designs and similar prices, skystorm seems to be just a bit more... What do you reccomend?

I use the Sharpshooter sheaths that KSF & TKC carry. They work fine in a FP or in a sports coat inside pocket. I have used the knife only sheaths from TKC and DLT, but there's no advantage for me because I carry a small flashlight with my fixed blades and a knife only sheath is a waster of space for my uses. Izulas, BRKTs, some Alan Davis FBs, and my Bradford G3 all work well in the Sharpshooter sheaths.

Here is an izula with TKC scales in a KSF Allegheny pocket sheath. Along with a 47s preon 2.

It fits pretty good in the sheath. I mostly carry a Street Beat in it though. Back left pocket for me.
