so I'm looking for a pocket slip for my GEC #97 and I'm just wondering if any of you have recommendations. I would prefer one with a clip.

Thx for the feedback,

I got one from Collector Knives. They sell a leather slip in a few sizes and colors.
I bought the Tuscany slip for large folders.
A GEC trapper or a Buck 112 will fit with enough knife exposed to remove the knife from the slip.
They're a little tight when new, but break in.

I'd echo the above suggestion, especially if you want a clipped one.

If you'd consider a clipless slip, then check out the ones at KnivesShipFree and GPKnives!

I picked up a nice clipless one a while back on Etsy for a Churchill #35. I contacted the maker and provided the dimensions that I wanted for the sheath. I didn't want it as wide as some of the commercially manufactured pocket sheaths, and the length was just right. Turned out great IMO.

As said above if you want one with a clip then the ones on Collector Knives are great. Without a clip I would recommend Hitch & Timber Slips. They are amazing quality.

Whole nuther thought. A Buckaroo pouch or folding knife pouch has been popular in the cowboy world for many years. Lots of the advantages of a slip with a clip and none of the disadvantages. No clip to scratch the paint of your buddy's truck as you are putting the ice chest in the back, no clip to get caught and snagged and stretched out, no clip to get tangled in a seat belt, no clip to wear your pocket out, no clip to scratch the furniture etc. It back threads on a belt loop and can go in either a front or back pocket. Need your knife, tug on the thong and the pouch comes out of the pocket. Leave the pouch hanging while you use your knife and then tuck it back in when done. Works for a lot of folks.

Something to consider maybe.

Thanks for the idea Horsewright. My brother has a CRKT Obake that is carried in a similar way but for a fixed blade. Might have to give this a try.

Timber and Hitch makes some of the best quality slips I've ever owned. He has lots of options, color choices, and for alone or in combination with other things. He hand sews and uses top quality leather. Check him out on Etsy or just google him.

Ya bet!

Buckaroo pouches look really useful. Love the roughout leather.

That roughout one belongs to my friend Dave, I didn't make that one but did the others. I did make his leggings though he was wearing in that pic at that branding.
