Pocketknife Paradigm Shift

I recall seeing Spyderco knives several times and dismissing them as somewhat awkward or even ugly. Then about a year ago, I bought a Rookie in G10 and a Native. Both knives fit to perferction and I have carried the Rookie ever since. (The Native went to my brother-in-law as a graduation gift and will someday be replaced.) The steel (ATS-55) is phenominal in the Rookie and keeps cutting and cutting. Just today, I received a Cricket in the mail and again I am stunned at the quality and steel in this price range. I have or have owned Chris Reeve knives (fixed blades), Busse, SOG, Buck, Schrade, you name it and I have found no other knife that comes close to the quality and value for the price. I have a Moran drop-point on the way and I can't wait to get it, use it, love it. In all I have become a bit of a Spyderco geek, lauding the virtues of the blades and the company and bringing others into the fold. Thanks Sal and Spyderco for quality knives, unparalleled customer care, and shifting my pocketknife paradigm.

I thought this a fitting topic to reply to with my first post.

I too, once overlooked the Spyderco knives each time I visited my local knife store. Not sure why, they just didn't appeal to me in the past. I am happy to report, however, that when I visit my local knife store now, my eyes do not leave the Spyderco display case. Thanks to all the great members of this forum, I have learned that Spyderco makes a magnificent knife. A few months ago, when I first laid my hands on a Wegner plain edge, I knew I was handling greatness. Since that purchase, I have also added a plain edge Starmate and a plain edge Military (CPM440V) to my collection. I love all three of these knives and can't wait to get my hands on a Moran drop-point and a Lum Chinese folder (and the list goes on). I enjoy all of the wisdom and information shared on this forum and look forward to every new post. Thanks Sal, and everyone here for turning me into a die-hard Spyderco fan.
