Pretty unassuming from this angle..

But then...

And then...

This ol thing was in a box lot in some auction a few years back. I carry it sometimes.. Its pretty slim in the pocket as long as it stays vertical, but when it crosses up it becomes as big as it actually is. Belt carry is better. The blade is a nice full flat grind that makes this a great slicer.
These are really great old knives.. Long live the original Old Timers!

Ps, sorry for the scabby pic there at the last. I will get better ones in the sun maybe, tomorrow.

My Uncle Bobby has carried one of those I think for about 40 years or close to it. He dressed out many a deer with it; great old folding hunter!

I have one of those but with a secondary skinner blade instead. I picked it up at a pawn shop purely for the near comical size.

Even a knife this large, Shrade still have it near perfect bevel geometry. I wish more modern production makers offered geometry like Shrade. Full flat ground coming very thin behind the edge, even on these "hard use" knives of yesteryear.

Looks unused- unless it did that job on your index finger.
Very nice.
Haha, good spot! Actually, a Boker 2001 SpaceOdessy bit me for cleaning its ungrateful self.. 'S what I get for not using that one I reckon.. Damn commemorative casequeens..

It was definitely near mint aside from external marks from pockets or tackleboxes when I got it. It appeared to have only partially sliced into some acid fruit judging from the patina crescent in the middle of the blade. Since I have had it I put a mousepad convex on it and have cleaned some fish and sliced a few loins up with it aside from random carry use sometimes. It is really an excellent fish knife, being so thin, and a apple killing machine to boot.

Some size reference.. And its a #125OT if anyone is interested. Find an old one, I think the F&F is better on the 'real' old timers vs the newer made ones by Taylor. I will say I have only handled the new stockmans tho, so I cant speak to new versions of this.
This thing has a major stiff pull, locks up abt 33%.. Walk n talk? This thing sprints and screams.. Keep fingers clear when closing.. Or else.

ETA: That is not a full size trapper, its the middle one..

Here is mine next to a couple other folders.

Edit: mine is a 25OT, not a 125 OT

Great knife! Gonna have to watch for the 2 blade model..

What model number is that one?
Also I like the barlow with the clip point. Nice look to it. I always see the sheepsfoot or spear varieties it seems like..
Thanks for sharing your ol blades, sir.

Very nice, SAK Guy.. That 51OT looks like a nice carrying size..I like the lump on the thumb bar too. Gonna have to start hitting the fleabay some this week it looks like.

Nice specimens, folks!

Haha, I had no clue this was going to be this large.. Sweet knife..

Its a Camillus 716. I like the hidden springs for the lockbars, but they are a chore to depress to unlock the knife. Glad this thing has half stops, for sure.
I also picked up a Schrade Old Timer 51 and a 25 to boot.. The ol Bulldog is really a cool pattern, and I always liked the hunter pattern so the 25 was a must have.. Need an Uncle Henry to go with it.

I'm going to try and find a Kabar and a Queen folding hunter next. Already been sniped on a couple on the fleabay..

Ooo yea. I am impressed. I love trappers, and this.. Well its something special for sure. The lines of it make me want a northfield or a queen mountain man pattern to hang out with it.. Theres another big ol camillus trapper floating out there, but i'm on the fence till I snag a Kabar hunter.
