Just got back from a trip where I walked the Mojave Desert. Only blade I took with me for the entire trip [which was about 5 days] was my Pohan Leu Mini Tanto "C", with sheath, in a static line carry. It was light, THIN, easy to carry, held its edge AMAZINGLY well [this truly did shock me at how well it handled everything], and was alwasy ready to do every task. For a little knife, it handled big chores with aplomb, as long as I did things the smarter [and not harder] way.
The knife in question;
Yours truly on said trip;
Some of the truly rugged , but amazingly beautiful terrain found on the Nevada side;
But mainly it was a whole lot of this - again beautiful, but flat, long, and hot. The sky literally was that blue and you could literally see for miles. Temps were between 101 to 107 during the day, and only got down to about 75 at night [I was shocked it didn't go lower - everyone had said it would].
I would have complete confidence in this knife and carry it to hell and back. While it admitedly isn't big enough to chop firewood [and there really isn't much in the desert] it WAS good for nearly everything else; sparking off from to get a fire going, as well as food prep, typical cutting chores, non-typical cutting chores, and was also ready for simple tool making. It could have even been potentially lashed to a stick for a spear or long distance cutting tool, wereit required. It was flat, light and easy to carry [my back was thankful].
Hope evey enjoys the pics and the short story.!~
