point-down carry question

I just got a CRKT Greg Lightfoot folder, and have a design question. It is the first knife I have owned with a point-down clip. It also has thumbstuds on each side of the blade. The clip is very stiff, and forces the left-side thumb stud against the cloth of my pocket. Unless I am very careful, this knife is almost impossible to get out of my pocket without catching on the edge of my pocket.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is it possible to retrofit the knife so that there is only one thumbstud? (It looks like it would be easy, if I could get ahold of the parts)

Thanks everybody.

Thom

I have used my Dremel to smooth a thumbstud on a knife that was doing the same thing. Made it very easy to draw when I got done. I was able to remove the thumbstud though and this prevented any maring of the blade.
