Hey i am looking for a good carry knife for everyday use, that if needed can handle some heavier work. Now i know this is just as broad as you can get but does anyone have any recomendations that they give guys like me? I would like it to not be too "big and bad" something at least semi-discreet. As for price range i dont want to sell my soul but i would rather put some money in now for soemthing that will last me. And if you dont feel like posting your saved answer again can i get a link to a thread similar to this one?

... well, this thread hasn't caught fire.

How about fixing a price range, that usually helps. Also, a preference for materials, G10, wood, frn, aluminum, etc. Do you know much about locks, and have a preference there? Serrations? Is there a restriction on knives where you live/work that could cause you problems? What do you think about multi-tools and swiss army knives? Do you think you want to own a few knives to carry in rotation, or just one to do it all?

I would say my price range would be from 0-100 on the knife. As for locking i have no special preference but i dont want serration. I believe that the blade needs to be under 4 inches to be carried but im not too worried about that. As for multitools i dont really need one of those i have multiple swiss army knives and leathermans, i want a knife that will hold up to some punishment but doesnt look like rambo's toy. As for preference for materials i would a plastic-metal handle, rather than wood.

A Spyderco Delica or Endura 4 would be my recommendation (particularly the Waved versions!).

The Benchmade Griptilians and Spyderco D'Allara Drop Point are pretty nice too.

I'll throw a few out there
Benchmade-Pika, Monochrome, Ambush, Griptilian
Cold Steel-Voyager, Recon 1
Kabar-Mule, Dozier (frn handles)
Kershaw-Vapor, Cyclone, Blur
Spyderco-Delica, Endura, Native (S30V for $40 at Walmart) maybe the R2
Byrd knives-Cara Cara, Meadowlark, Pelican

These are talked about often. I personally have a Griptilian and Voyager; and had an Ambush, the old version of the Pika (Eclipse), Vapor, Delica, and Endura. I'm going to be getting a Cara Cara soon, probably use it to replace my Voyager. these are also all well under $100. I think the closest you could get on this list is about $85 if you ordered a D2 Griptilian from Cabela's.

Spyderco Cara Cara, built like a tank and razor sharp OTB, a bargain at the price...dirt cheap
