I've been monitoring the forums for months, Uncle Bill, and everthing I've ever seen about khukuris suggests they have a sharp, pointy looking tip.

In recent weeks, however, I've seen a number of designs including from the regular line such as WWIIs, with more weight up front, looking more bulbous.

Is this just the personal style of a few of the kamis? Or is there that much variation in khukuris? Even if I don't use khukuris for piercing, I like a sharp looking tip.

I was reminded of this post this morning when I viewed the pics of the Gelbu Special blem (post# 000979) and the BEE-YOO-tiful Kothimoda (post #000981. I noted the 'blunter' point of the Gelbu, and the slender and rakish point of the Kothi, which strongly resembles the blade of my sirupati SN#204. There IS a definite variation, which I liken (being an old guy like Bill) to the difference in profile between a Supermarine Spitfire, and a P-51 Mustang. Both elegant, but if your taste runs to one or the other, it would behoove you to let Bill know when ordering which you prefer. Personally, I like 'em pointy! The blade of that kothi ought to be the 'type profile' of all of the narrow khuk styles, IMHO.
