Hey guys just finished up these two pointy 3V Tantos. Both have hand rubbed finishes, copper spacers, Ti Guards and Menukis.
I did the fullers a little different on the first one, I think it came out pretty cool. Both have my signature tapered fullers on the spine.
These are flat ground and are needle sharp.
The blades are around 8.5" long.

Thanks for looking!!

you seem to be hitting your stride with this type of knife, Ben.

Forget "10Dick"

You went "11Dick" on those

Digging the blades...

Ben, I'm a big fan of those!
I bet they feel great, but can't help but wonder about how the feel would be if you
did a higher grind, letting it run off the spine at a point fwd of the plunge... lightening
the blade and introducing a distal taper. It may totally mess up the asthetics you're
going for, but I'm just throwing that out there.

Love 'em, Ben. how about a wooden saya? I guess that's not as practical for modern carry.

The top fuller adds a lot of nice curves, I think it's really good-looking like that.

Thanks for the kind words guys!!

Thanks Lorien, my books are filling up with orders for them, so I will have lots of practice. : )

Thanks for the insight Tad! I have thought about that, and it definitely would be a better slicer if I did so. Although they cut quite well, this style of knife really is a piercing design, so more of a single edge dagger. With the addition of the fullers I get a really nicely balanced blade (balance point is right on the ricasso), and still retain maximum stiffness and strength.

I do have a hybrid fighter drawn up that may benefit from the type of grind you are talking about though. Hopefully I can give it a shot in a couple months.

Although some people may prefer a wooden sheath, I usually make whatever the majority of my customers prefer. Which is normally leather or kydex.
