I have received some mail regarding the gamblers rig thread ( the pic of the derringer ) and then on page 2 the other gamblers jewelery ect. As some of you may know I on occasion do some magazine articles and I just ran across the attached pic which went with a story which I did. everything in the pic is real. including the large bills and jewelry. The knives in the pic are among the most rare of antique domestic automatics they are all Case knives. I thought with the interest which was shown releating to the previous thread some of you might enjoy seeing these items again they are from my personal collection. LT

Lt,

Did those Case Zipper release knives have any locking mech's to prevent accidential opening? Is the large square in the handle is the release button?
I am repeating myself here but that is a beautiful set of knives.
Thanks for showing us a little bit more.

They locked in the open position. No safty but the mech although an awkward design is such that I do not think they would accidently open although it could. The clasp is one of the jewels of my collection. The estimates are that they made 40 to 125 of these ( all prior to 1925 CASE Bradford ). I believe this to be the most pristene original left in the world. I paid a ransom for it but I fell in love. LT
