Has anyone ever spent much time in a RZR 800-S? I am pretty sure I am going to make an offer on one tomorrow and I would love to hear some feed back. Its a 2011 with roughly 900miles on it for 10k. Its owned by an elderly man(65'ish) and looks damn near mint. I toyed with getting the 900XP, but they are a good 3-4k more.

Is the 900xp worth the extra 4-5k?
Anything I should watch for?
Any comments about the 800-S engine?

Let me know what you think!

I have a buddy who has owned both. His basic opinion was that the 800 was good, but the 900 xp is amazing. From what he explained to me, the suspension is better, handling is better due to the difference in stance, and the power difference is far more than just noticeable. Hes a bit of a nutcase though so whether or not the extra power is needed is another story.

I drove a friends a few times on an outing and I had a few issues with it. I normally ride a Arctic Cat 500. The Rzr was awesome power and handling wise, but the ground clearance was not good in my opinion. I spent the majority of the day in the mud pulling him out cause it kept high centering. It would climb any hill you pointed it up, and 0 to 45 mph was crazy. For my style of riding (I love playing in the mud) it is not optimum in stock trim.

Good luck on the purchase, and they are fun.
