I wonder,

Are there any of these out there without the word "police" or "military" on them?

Anyone else besides me wish they were just plain blades, like all of the rest of the fine spyderco pieces?
 
I would also like to see the Police and Military without the words on the blade.

I think it could give some folks the impression that I'm a "wannabe" or a "chairborne commando".
It's kinda like seeing someone who never served wearing a shirt with "SEAL" or "USMC Sniper".

Since I did serve for six years in the Army, I can carry the Military model without reservation.
Unfortunately, I prefer the G-10 Police...

Maybe I should try to join the police force for a few years?
 
I'm guessing that the names were chosen to appeal to their target audience.

While I'd rather see them either referred to by their model number or have a less career-oriented name, I'm for preserving the status quo because we can't agree on a new name for the Calypso Jr.

I have a flat ground G-10 PE police. I don't remember seeing the word on the blade. I'd have to verify it though.

The Police mod was produced without anything on the blade for a while...but Spyderco put it back on due to customer requests.

You hit the nail on the head.

That is how I see it too. I've never been in the Military or on a Police force. I have been a fireman/EMT but that only works for the Rescues!

Yes, there are. With nothing on the blade or with different text. For instance, there is the PIG Police. It has etched on the blade "Pride, Integrity, Guts" arranged so vertically it says PIG.
