Question: A friend of mine gave me a Spyderco Police Model. Great knife, full serrations. Its flat ground, marked ATS-55. G-10 (?) scales. Why is this one flat ground all the way? All the current pictures I see, the blade has alot more grind lines to it. Is this Very new? Very old? Rare? I have several other Spydercos I could carry if this one has collector interest. Appreciate the help.

Sgt 127- That is just the way the G-10 police models were ground. A hollow ground G-10 Police is rare, but not the flat ground. The G-10 police model is discontinued, though. The numerous grind lines you see are probably on the SS police (metal handle) that features a hollow ground blade with a false-edge.
I hope this helps :)

Thanks. It looks more like a slimmer version of my Military...and, very different from my ancient SS Police model. But...I like it. Very pointy. Since I'm pretty good about always having my SAK along, I'll resist the urge to turn screws with it and it should hold up fine...
