I need a way to keep the SS clip from shining when I carry them. I have tried paint but it rubs off quickly is there a way to keep the shiny clip from showing?

For the Police, you might try giving the Spyderco Factory Outlet a call at (800) 828-1925, they may be able to sell you the either blued or one of the new bead blasted ones. The Dragonfly might be harder, not sure if there is anything but bright steel available in the small clips. Some folks have used sandpaper and scotchbrite pads to give a brushed finish, and that is probably the easiest way. Some have used shrink tubing to cover the clips, usually to prevent the clip from scratching things, but dull finished shrink tubing would also kill the glare. Or, if you know someone who does auto body work, they might be able to sandblast them for you.

Easy, get some of the more expensive electrical tape and carefully cover the clip in any way you like. You should be left with an equaly functional clip that can take on a variety of colors, black, blue, yellow, you name it.

Put a piece of black grip tape (the waterproof kind that is made for bathtubs) over the outside of the clip. It really helps when extracting the knife as well.

I learned this from Bob of the now defunct REKAT. Get some shrink tube from the electrical department of a hardware store. Home Depot, Lowes, etc. You can cut the length of it to cover the clip. Heat it with a blow dryer. The shrink tube shrinks to cover the clip. It is also easily removed if you want to go back to the original look.

Lots of good ideas. Thanks alot I will give them a try. This forum is great when you need a knowledgeable brain pool to tap. I pay for support on things and it is never this good.

UPDATE:
Yeehah problem solved.:D
I painted the clip black and I slid he clear shrink wrap over it. It is almost invisible and the paint wont rub off. Thanks again guys.
