Police lanyard hole.

Why is the police without a lanyard hole? The much smaller baby police, the rookie has one, why not the big brother?

Just speculating here, but maybe because the original Police never had one, so perhaps Spyderco is trying to keep the basic design as faithful to the original as possible.

I don't really care since I don't use lanyards.

Besides, even if it were used by police and emergency personnel, I imagine a hanging lanyard would just get in the way and could be a potential hazard.

Actually some Police models did have the lanyard. They were produced this way for only a short time starting around 1994 but it was stopped due to the added cost.
I have seen both stainless and aluminum versions with the lanyard but not too often. I have a Peter Blanchard Eagle Police with it.
