I keep seeing a Police model up on eBay, that is G-10 and has a blade like the Police 3. Only this is supposed to be an older model and has ATS-55 steel, with an uncoated clip. Is this a fake? I never knew any Police models had the flat grind, non-beveled blade prior to the new Police 3.

No Jill, it's not a fake, it's perfectly legitimate. There were at least two versions of the original G-10 Police, one with a "normal" Police blade, one with FFG and no swedge grind.

Thanks Deacon, I thought it looked real. But, there was nothing listed for it on a list that was supposed to show every Spyderco ever made.

Considering how many variations there are of the C07 Police, it is pretty hard to have a complete list.

These are both ATS-55 flat grind versions of the older G-10 Police

If that is the one I'm thinking of, the clip is not stock. There was one up recently that had a short, polished silver clip that looked like it would fit on the Mouse.

Yes, the clip on that one is almost certainly not the original one. Handle appears somewhat beat up too. If I'd checked the listing and seen who the seller was, I'd have suggested avoiding it like the plague. He sells a lot of Spydercos which appear to have been assembled from parts. There seems to be another listed now, in better condition and with one of the proper clips.
