Police VS Calypso Questions

I recently acquired a Police plain edge model with a GIN 1 blade and stainless handles. A friend of mine has one with ATS 55 blade steel, and I am wondering which is the better of the two, and if i would be better served by a large Calypso plain edge?
Any comments (by those who have these knives) appreciated.

Hi Phillip,
I have both the Police in ATS 55 and the Calypso in VG 10. Both are very good steels and have excellent edge retention etc. I think the handle may turn out to be a bigger factor in this case. The micarta on the Calypso is nice, but a G10 police will be less slippery. Now, that I've said that, I'm going to contradict myself and reccommend the VG10 steel as superior. Maybe in the near future, Spyderco will offer the Calypso with G10 or Zytel handles to cut down on the slick ness of micarta when used in wet/slimy(fish cleaning) situations. After rereading this post, I think all I've done is muddy the waters for you. Heck, just get both !
