Polised Clips!

I have found that the black clips I have gotten in the past look nice until they get scratched. So. I tried to polish one and liked it. I first used 180 grit, followed by 400 grit-->600 grit -->1000grit -->2000grit and then using red rouge polished it out with a dremel. I think it gives a classy look especially against Black G-10. I have attached some pics of the handle of my BM710D2 ( I love this knife! ). Please feel free to comment. I have also found they don't show scratches as easy. Thanks.

Yeah, it does look good. I have a SERE 2000 that came with a polished clip that's now more like a super polished clip. I don't hide nothing. :)

I did not know how it looked at first, but after carrying it a few days I loved it. I wish more manufacturers would sell their knives with polished clips. Thanks for all the kind comments.

That's very nice harrymole. I like polished clips also. The only bad thing is on a small knife the polished clips want to make my fingers slip. On a 710 it's perfect though.

Nice work :)

Polished clips tend to draw alot more attention to what's in your pocket though. Not always a bad thing but not appropriate in all situations. I think that's why they tend to paint them.

I just think a black clip that is losing its "blackness" is ugly. How about anodizing? I don't know if it is possible with steel clips, but it is a thought.

Looks good Mole. I have the same problem with my 556 Mini Grip. The scratches make it look ugly. I am going to try your solution tomorrow.
