I am new to knife collecting and have a Randall knife made in 1977 inherited from a friend. There is no rust on it and I don't think it was used very much. However, I do think that it was left in the sheath more than it should have been. I also have a new Randall so I have an idea what it looked like new. I thought I would ask for advice from the forum before taking a chance on messing it up. Your comments appreciated.
Thanking you in advance,
Ernroe

Try some flitz metal polish and a soft cloth. And see. If you know how to use a buffer that works as well.

Is it bare steel? I thought that they did some sort of finish on the O1, even if it was just bluing.
What does the blade look like? Just some discoloration or something worse?

DON'T use any metal polish or a buffer!
Your knife is valuable. It won't be if you do the above.
If you can't stand it the way it is, send it to Randall and have THEM refinish it.
All new gun owners think their old gun needs to be "reblued."
All new knife collectors want to refinish their knives. Hopefully, you'll get over it.
