Polish or Satin

I've been into astronomy and know what an optical finish looks like. Sometimes I don't know when to stop polishing. Maybe a little OCD too. I can't get a satin finish to look consistent. I try to keep the original finish for as long as possible.

Thanks

Is there a question in there?

I was thinkin’ the same thing.

For preference, I prefer a satin or crocus finish on older etched blades that’ll see light use. I prefer polished for user blades with CV steels, it keeps them from rusting or rather it slows it down.

Of course once it gets a scratch on the blade I stop worryin’ about the finish. Use

There is, and it seems to be running about 3-1 in favor of satin. For me it depends a lot on the knife, I have plenty of examples of each.
