Hello. I'm considering polishing off the bead blast finish on my CRKT Companion as well as on the large KFF. I've tried to find information by searching the forums and the web, but have had little luck.

So, am I supposed to just use plain old sandpaper? Working from 600grit up to 1500-2000grit? Should I use wet/dry paper, if so, what sort of lubrication should I use? Any advice at all would be appreciated.

I want to get the beadblast off, and make the blades really shine, almost mirror finish. Also, would there be any tools I would need? other than a torx wrench to take the scales off.

Thanks!

oh, one more thing...how can I tell what size torx bits I need? Is there any easy way to do so without lugging my knives to the Home Depot or buying all of them?

That article that Hawaiian posted sure has the best stuff. By the way, the Wet Or Dry sandpaper is not simply water-resistant, it also uses a harder abrasive than normal sandpaper. The harder abrasive will cut the hardened cutlery steel easier than other common sandpapers.
