I found one and was so impressed with the contrast in the shiny blade and rough gray TI, that i ordered it. Anybody else like this variation?

I can see why you would find that appealing. I, on the other hand, like the reverse combination: Polished handles, and a stonewashed blade. I like the stonewashed blade better on a user because it doesn't seem to pick up scratches and wear as much as the polished blade can.

I'd love to see a pic of yours when you finally get it. . . .

A mirror polished blade does look awesome, until you touch it. I mirror polished a Kershaw OD1 and it looked great. But as soon as I used the blade it sucked because it shows every minor anything it picks up. Scratches, finger prints (the biggest deal breaker..), dust. The stone washed is great though. Still has that contrasty feel you talk about, but doesn't show any wear. I love the stonewash finish

I like my polished blade. I ordered it from the factory that way to have something a little different. It does show use a lot more than the stonewashed though. This being an EDC knife, if I had to do it over I wouldnt get the polished blade.

I don't like stonewashed blades. The only Sebenza I have is a small regular with polished blade.

I picked up a polished blade Lg. 21. I agree it will probably show scratches and finger prints more, but I don't mind it. It's different. Won't stop me from getting full stonewashed blades though. :)

I got it today and I couldn't get outside to take a better picture, but here it is with my Ebony.

So, there's the 21, Classic and Regular? Why don't people like the 21 well as the Regular? I don't see anything wrong with the 21 myself, but maybe it's because I don't know enough yet?

I think there's lots of people who like the 21 more than the regular, but a lot of people love the regular because of the blade shape. It's been said that the perfect Sebenza would be a 21 handle with a regular blade.

I like them both.. but I like the overall looks if the regular better. I love the "teeth" on the front of the regular handles.. they really lock your grip in place, but do not feel uncomfortable. I also find the Regular to be more "Hand Filling" then the classic or 21. The 21 and classic feel thinner in the hand, especially around the cut out area.

Also... the regular is no harder to unlock then the 21... I mean there is no difference at all to me, I read this was a complaint, but I don't find it any worst at all. I like the look of the regular better also.. looks meaners, lol..

But I do like both of them just fine.

Jill - welcome to the sickness. CR knives are just remarkable pieces of craftsmanship and precision. With regard to various styles of Sebenzas, there have only been two significantly different models produced. The first, original style was used until 1996, when the new "Regular" style was introduced. The Regular style was discontinued as a standard model in 2008, but it is still used as the platform for the annual limited edition Sebenzas released each year. The original style was reintroduced in 2000 as the "Classic" with a few minor changes. The "Classic" style was a standard production model until 2008,when it was rebranded the "21" with some more minor changes. So you have the Original/Classic/21 style and the Regular style as the only really different models of Sebenzas out there. Currently the only available new models are the 21 and the Regular (as a Limited Edition Annual).

Clear as mud, right?

edit - people tend to prefer the blade shape of the Regular and the handle profile of the Original/Classic/21, but that is by no means universal.

There's the Original, Classic, Regular, and 21.

Some people (like me) prefer the Regular blade shape compared to the 21. I also like the handles on the Regular. The 21 is nice, they are all nice, but given a choice I would take the Regular pattern.

Well good there's not 500 models and a variation model introduced monthly off discontinued models. I really got sort of tired of trying to keep up with that!

Well you do have variants. You have the Annuals (Lg & Sm), variations (Star-tac, Insigno), Inlaid, Unique graphic, CGG, Damascus options... :)

Righto. Once you get passed the basic configurations, the Reeve river runs somewhat deeper than I described. Didn't want your head to spin off too far.
