Hey all as i am still an infant to the Becker revolution (which is slowly starting to catch hold here in Australia) i have seen in a lot of posts and there seems to be a lot of BK's with the coating removed off the blade. My question is how is this done and can you do a "part" polish of the blade?

Cheers

I stripped mine with a belt sander, I think I will use some chemical stripper when I get around to doing my 9. Part polish do you mean only polishing a section of the blade or not taking it to as fine of a polish? Both can be done. If you do a little searching I am sure you will be able to fined quite a few threads on what you are looking for. Welcome to the forum!

Epoxy stripper will take off the coating and what do you mean by part polish? Like a satin finish? Or remove only part of the black?

Yeah sorry guys should have been more specific but I meant only remove the coating off the "grind" section of the blade.

Thanks for the advice and welcom fellas

Get a gel stripper and apply with a disposable brush in the areas you want

Hey Keepontruckin, just go to your local hardware shop, one popular one comes to mind which starts with a 'B' not sure if we allowed to mention business names...?? Pick up some paint stripper to lay the blade in. If you want sections of the blade polished you can use various grades of sandpaper to achive a polished effect. I'll try post a pic of my stripped BK2.

Sweet thanks Eseedownunder I know the place well!!!! Itll give me another excuse to head there.

Thanks for all the other advice fellas it all helps

course, some of the work happens for some people when they reprofile the blade, esp with "fisking"
