Wow! I just got my PM2 back from Spyderco, newly sharpened, and holy **** is it hard to polish. I took it to my Spyderco UF Stone and my Stropman HD Compact. No luck. It's not even close.

Anyone have any luck with this steel or any advice? Goodness!

On mine, from the factory edge, I started at 220 grit, working my way up-400, 600, 1000 on my edge pro. Not sure if that helps ,but the thing is to work your way on the grits, whichever method you use.
You gotta get them lines out.
I have only been at it for around a year, but getting some good results. but I myself am always up to some good advice.
Cheers

ditto on working through the grits, s30v is very wear resistant you'll be there forever polishing out a factory edge with an ultra-fine stone

Start at 60 grit or less until the factory grind lines are gone, then work your way up.

Thanks all. I've made some progress. It's not perfect but it's much better than when I started out.

An Edge Pro will solve your problem quickly and easily.

With the EP, S30v is one of the easier steels to polish.
