polished pilot survival knives

i was hoping someone out there could help me with some dates. i have several polished pilot survival knives, and possibly an astronaut jet knife. when did camillus switch from the brown and tan two piece box to the current thin red cardboard one? and, when did they stop the date stamp on the pommel? the tangs are stamped: (each on is different) "camillus ny" no pommel stamp, "camillus new york" (looks like new ones) no pommel stamp, 1-81 pommel stamp no tang stamp. any idea when these were made, years, etc. and how to determine value. i have orig boxes, papers, etc. thanks!
 
The only help I might can give is, the shiny stainless ones were for commerical sales, as were the stainless marine knives, which were sold as a Trail Blazer model.
 
The Pilot Survival knife with the polished blade is a model #1010. Camillus stopped stamping the dates on the pommel after they lost the contract to Ontario in 1984 or 1985. The brown and tan woodgrain boxes were first used in the late 1970's. The current style red box was introduced in the 1990's and this knife would have the current "CamilluS" stamping. The knife stamped on the pommel "1-81" was made around January, 1981.

thanks! so, the one with "camillus ny" on the tang, no pommel stamp, and tan and brown bow would be late 80's? thanks
 
If the knife was made during the late 1980's or later it would have the current stamping which is "CamilluS" (note the capital C and S). If the knife was made before 1967 it would be stamped "Camillus,N.Y."

that is stellar news! i have a polished 1010, in the box, sheath, papers, etc, and the wrap paper the knife came in, string with paper wrap. thank you!

The model #5685 is the U.S.M.C. version of the 7" Marine Corps fighting/utility knife and used a different stamping than the model #5733 Pilot
Survival knife. The model #5685 uses the old WWII style stamping and this knife was first offered in the late 1980's or early 1990's.
