In the Ergonomic series, is there any difference in value if the spine is polished or epoxy coated like the sides?

Thanks!

No, not originally and I am not sure why that would make a difference now, unless it was some sort of variant that had something other than a polished spine. I have one like that and I don't see anything special about it. Except that when I decide to take the coating off I won't have to do the spine.

For some, it makes a difference in the "feel' of ones grip. Some of the polished spine blades have a bit more contour to the scales, and the interfacing of the scales-to-tang can vary a bit.

I'm pretty sure it's just a visual preference thing. Can't say that it would it would change the functionality of the knife much. I do think it changes the value some. They're as many around that have the polished spine compared to those are fully coated. I personally like the looks of the polished spine over those that are coated.

I haven't noticed any difference in value. I don't really think there should be either. It's the same knife. I think it just depends on when it was made. It's like some have the logo and some don't. It really doesn't make a difference in value. Just depends on what your looking for.
I have both and it doesn't matter to me. But that's just me.

Thanks everyone. I have both also (in a couple of models), and have not used the polished spine ones, in case I want to re-sell them. I have just gotten an NO-E (full coat), and will probably make that my user, rather than the polished. I couldn't remember when the polished ones came out, and was just wondering. Thanks for the info!
