Hey All,
Currently working out a trade for a Gabon ebony large 21. Is there a date range that these were made? Are they still made?
Also the spine of the knife is question had a mirror polish put on it. Anyone know if this would compromise the warranty in any way?
Thanks in advance for the help!

The ebony was discontinued when they changed to the current wood inlays which I think was a year or so now. I have one that was made in June of 2015. The only wood they didn't change is the box elder. Don't know when it was offered initially.
I'd agree with Josh K and call them to find out if the polished spine will affect any warranty issues. I would be guessing it would be on a case by case basis depending on the mod that was done.

Thanks all. It’s in the mail! Can’t wait to get it. Never thought I’d end up with a wood inlay but this was too good to pass up!

I polished the lockbar of my large spalted beech sebenza (like an idiot) and they charged me I believe $40 to fix it back to the way it was. Hope this helps

They are very reasonable and from my experience only void the warranty on what is effected, not the whole knife. If they void any part of the warranty at all. In this case it might effect them doing re-finishing to the blade, might.
But only they can say for sure-enjoy your new knife
