Started during the JK shop gathering - just finished today:

And I put a very slight curved edge on the micarta scales and gave them a light polish:

Loving this knife!

Good work, snippy!

That's a nice touch. Don't think I've ever seen someone do that to a JK before.

Beautiful, Snippy!!!

That really turned out great!!

What was your progression in terms of the grits used?

You really spiffed that one up!

best

Thanks guys!

I started with 100 grit and moved up very slowly - 120, 150, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 5000. I went real slow and kept the edges as square as possible.

My hands hurt!

:)

Of course your hands hurt, that's a heck of a lot of hand sanding.
Turned out great though, congrats on the win and the spiffy knife.

Great work. Breaking the edges on the scales and the polish give a very finished look.

Between these pictures and the ones KYenglish have posted of his necker, I don't know how long I'm going to be able to resist ordering one myself.

Noooo, we don't want to pressure you with pictures of our great kneckers, that's not what we're about round here

Was wondering.....how long do you think it might take a man to polish the entire blade like that?

depends on the set up, I've never timed from one stat to another but as a rule spend longer on the lower grits, it takes me several "man hours" to go from rough up to from 80 to 100, to 150 to 220 to 320 to 400 to 600 at least IME with hand sanding just on the spine,
