I've been reading about how much smoother you can get a CR knife by polishing the washers. So here is what I did.
First I polished the washers on the 600 grit edge pro stone, then took it down to the 1000 grit polishing tape and finished it on a 3000 grit polishing tape. The stone/tape were simply on a counter, not on the edge pro system.
Cleaned and lubed the parts then reassembled. The results were pretty dramatic. I was literally shocked by how much smother the action was on the knives. I did it to a large sebenza and a mnandi. The difference was amazing, much smoother than before.
Give it a try if you have an edge pro, takes less then 10 minutes and is well worth the effort.
