Polishing around lettering

Quick question for the master steel polishers out there:
I'm doing some polishing of some old knives I have, and around the lettering I end up with little haloes where the finish doesn't get nearly as smooth. I know it's just the little "shoulders" of the letters that are holding me away from the little areas in between. Any thoughts on getting down into those places?

Thanks

Hey Cuz! ;)

Try some Flitz polish and a soft cloth. Maybe that's enough to get into the recesses?

Howdy howdy,
Sorry for my late reply--I've been on the road all day. I may try that--I'm actually having to do a little sanding because the previous owner of these blades didn't care for them and they have pitting problems. Overall, they're starting to look pretty good, but the lettering is definitely giving me fits. Seems like, eventually, the shoulders would smooth out and leave me in peace. I need to pick up some Flitz for some other projects anyway, so I guess this'll get me out of my chair and down to the store.

Thank you sir,
Warren
