Hey guys. I have a custom buck 110 with nickel bolsters. I had to tighten the pivot up on the knife and as an end result took it from 1000-1500-2000 grit sandpaper and then used a dremel to polish out those fine scratches followed up by scratch removing wax. The result is even and looks OK, but i'd like a full mirror polish on it and then let it go go get scratched from there and keep up with it...

My question is, how do i get it to a mirror finish by hand? I don't have a polishing wheel and used the dremel to get a consistent finish so it was presentable and blended in well with the other parts of the knife.

When you tighten a 110 in a vise on the bolsters you should use a padding in the vise jaws like leather.
Most hardware stores sell a buffing wheel with a shaft that can be chucked into a drill. Get 2 buffing wheels and load one with green rouge and the other with pink. Then buff out the small scratches. They will give it a mirror finish you'll be happy with. DM

The dremel polishing wheel does not have adequate surface area for an even finish.

So I used the simichrome by hand with a new microfiber cloth. I see tiny scratches everywhere in the light, but it looks substantially better than it did. You can't see them looking right at it, it looks almost chrome like otherwise.
