What do you guy's use to polish and shine your knives with? Years ago my dad had a bench type (looked like a bench grinder) but used polishing wheels, I would like to get a setup like that for my knives, I can remember using a simialar rig in school years ago to polish knives and jewelry. Anyone know where to find something like this? and what kind of wheels and compound you use?

...Use our "Search" function for quite a bit of info on buffing...Also go to the "The Toolshed: Knife Care, Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment" forum in BF... You can pick up dedicated buffers and all you'll need at Sears or most any well established power or bench tool seller. ...I use an old 8 inch bench grinder I picked up at a garage sale. I pulled off the guards and the grinding wheels and replaced the wheels with "el cheapo" buffing wheels I picked up at Ace Hardware. I put one on each shaft. One I use a green polishing compound on which hogs off lotsa material and on the other I use a white rouge type compound for polishing to a final polish. All I have to say for sure is to be extremely careful when doing the buffing. If that wheel picks up the blade you're working on the best thing you can hope for is that it gets thrown against the wall or the floor. The worst thing will result in you taking a trip to the ER...Be careful...
