Any tips or ideas on polishing my micarta Sebs? I am really not a fan of tumbled/bead blasted blades. I'm not going for high gloss satin finishes, just something other than tumbling. Want to do the blades and handles, I am going to leave the micarta alone.

Thanks.

You might be able to tape the micarta off with blue painters tape and scotchbright? Or sand with 800 grit wet dry paper.

Please post pix if you do it :D

Cape Cod polishing cloths work well on the blade. They'll bring up a nice soft sheen. The blade will still retain the stonewashed character but will look more refined.

I liked to flame color the handles, but only on the plain styles. So I'd say that So-Lo's suggestion for working the handles is spot on!

For the handles it probably is easier to just go for a good old hand rubed 600 or 800 grit finish and just mask off the micarta while you do it.

For the blade you can just pop out the thumb stud and go for a scotchbrite or hand sanded finish too.

Sounds easy :D
