Polishing Perfect Mirror

What methods do you guys use to polish your knives (O2) to a perfect mirror shine? I sand all the way up to 3 thousand grit, then go to the tripoli, white compound, green, then pink. I'm still not getting a perfect mirror shine.. Any suggestions?

I'm no expert but that should do it. Are you taking each grit all the way through? The only thing I can think of is that you're progressing through the grits too fast.

Perhaps I'll try again. I am alternating directions with each grit too. It just looks a little foggy. Not sure what level of grit the scratches are in. Perhaps I'll go back to tripoli and start again from there.
