Hey people, been as some would say lurking on here for a while now and was wondering if it was possable to do a mirror polish on my Bk 9 with a dremel tool?I have the polishing kit with the pasty stuff and everything just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this setup?

Welcome to the Becker forum, and Bladeforums!! Glad you're here.

I wouldn't do it, I have seen unreliable results on large spans of metal. Seems the dremel paste or polishing compound wears as you go, and it creates a different "look" to the surface. A wave appearance if you will. If you want to try it, go for it and post up some pics when you get done, show us what it can do.

Yes.

with a dremel tool?

No.

I stripped this one, used a bench belt sander to take it down to 320grit then finished by hand down to 3000 grit.

It can be done with an orbital hand sander but will take some patience. You can probably pick up an orbital sander cheap at Harbor Freight.

Have fun and let us know how it turns out.

A dremel will create an uneven finish because it is impossible to evenly sand more than a tiny area with it.

You need a bigger wheel for polishing, dremel is to small

You can get pretty close just using sandpaper and some elbow grease
I would start with 400 and go up to 2500, comes out pretty decent....
